Port Adriano is a yacht harbour and beach area just below the cliffs of the residential and small commercial area known as El Toro and is within energetic walking distance from one of the three Santa Ponsa golf courses, where there are a number of quality apartment developments. The marina of Port Adriano is approximately 20 minutes by car west of Palma  and by sea it is  9.21 km from the Port of Palma, 6.13 km from Andratx, 15.55 km from Ibiza, 87.88 km from Menorca, 113.94 from Barcelona and 343.05 from Antibes. Facing south and directly overlooking both the beach and port of Port Adriano is the 5 star Port Adriano Marina, Golf & Spa Hotel.  The marina and supporting infrastructure of Port Adriano was inaugurated in 1992 and contained  404 boat moorings, a selection of restaurants, marine sales offices, boat servicing companies and limited open parking. However, during 2008 work started on a extended and much improved marina, designed by Philippe Starck , with 82 additional moorings from 25 to 60 metres. The new marina will be substantially updated and extended. There will be a new outer sea wall, a central  quay built within the inner marina for extra moorings, commercial businesses and underground parking.  The commercial area will include restaurants, boat sales, boat charter, a nautical school, boat maintenance & repair, The sale of mooring and rental of moorings and fashionable top brand boutiques. The new project is due to be completed in 2010. On level land above the port and alongside or close by the Santa Ponsa Golf Course are a number of excellent and recently built apartment complexes, all are located in spacious community gardens  to include giant swimming pools,  pleasant open spaces and views.
