The marina and its pederian areas, shops and restaurants of Puerto Portals were constructed by 1976. This south facing marina has 670 berths from 8 by 3 metres to the largest  80 metres and is generall over 95% of the berths or moorings are occupied.  The main part of the marina area has two lines of botiques, restaurants and businesses, a frontline section, a centre pedestrian area and a second line.  Behind are several apartments complexes including the Voramar apartments, Sol de Vento Apartments and Barlovento Apartments. Above and overlooking the marina are other Puerto Portals apartments, though officially their adresses are in Portals Nous, the village immediately behind. Those higher Puerto Portals apartments include Siver Point Apartments, Las Terrazes Apartments and Edificio Portals Nous Apartments. In the immediate area of the Puerto Portals marina there are offices of several leading yacht brokers and yacht manufacturers including Sunseeker, Mediterranean Yachts and San Lorenzo. There are also Mallorca Sea School agencies and Mallorca Estate Agents. The central office of First Mallorca is located close-by at the point where you leave the Palma to Andratx motorway.
There are also well known restaurants in Puerto Portals, namely the excellent Restaurant Flanigans, the very elegant Rstaurant Triston and the very popular outside terrace cafe and restaurant Wellies of Puerto Portals.
Within easy walking distance to Puerto Portals Marina and sea front is Marinaland, a marina zoo with performing dolphins and sea lions and the in-place Mood Restaurant and Costa D'en Blanes tennis club.
Close-by is the 5 star deluxe  Hotel St Regis of Costa De'en Blanes and in the village above Puerto Portals is the Marina Portals, a popular hotel for those looking for a reasonable price hotel.
