More often than not, the best restaurants tend to be those a little off that beaten tourist trail. Hidden in a backstreet, without a particularly glamorous exterior, one could almost think that the locals wanted to keep these unpretentious eateries to themselves – and who can blame them. |

From the window of the plane we can see them by the dozen. We have no doubt
about where we are. They welcome us, as we cross Es Pla, the flat central plain. They are by our sides at touchdown. But will we always be greeted by the
Windmills of Mallorca? |

Whether it be Folk on a balmy evening at a quaint village square, Classical in a fully fledged concert hall complete with air-conditioning, or Rock at Palmas Bullring, the range of live music on offer in Mallorca during the summer months is certainly spectacular in terms of its diversity and location. |

Santa Ponsa, Mallorca - A success story
In the 1970s Santa Ponsa was a typical Mediterranean tourist resort town of hotels, holiday apartments, a marina, summer season cafés, restaurants, tourist shops, a fine sandy beach and a few fine homes along the nearby coastline. Nowadays Santa Ponsa extends to include Santa Ponsa Nova, Santa Ponsa Golf and as far as the marina of Port Adriano, its eastern boundary, approximately 3 miles from the original resort centre.
The area has developed considerably in the last 30 years and it is fair to say the development has in most cases been well planned, creating both a vibrant town and a pleasing rural environment. In more recent times the urbanizations - I would prefer to call them rural residential areas - have been built allowing space for private rural style living with gardens and views, in many cases sea views. In the 1980s apartment complexes were built on frontline locations and although now a more dated product, their locations mean they are very saleable.
However, new sites on the coastline are not permitted and new built apartment complexes are built back from the coast - perhaps only 500 metres from the sea but these developments are particularly well thought out giving their owners, in many cases several thousand square metres of landscaped community gardens and giant swimming pools. Their quality is high, features including underfloor heating, hot & cold air-conditioning, marble floors, double glazing, deluxe kitchens and luxury bathrooms. For a number of years, First Mallorca a leading Santa Ponsa estate agent, has been promoting quality before quantity.
Santa Ponsa has several superb amenities or claims to fame which make it the success story it is... the 4 excellent golf courses, The Santa Ponsa Country Club, The Club Nautico Marina, its beaches the resort town and the close-by and expanding Port Adriano marina. In addition the easy access to Palma, the international airport and international schools are just a few of the super convenient amenities. No wonder the area has attracted property owners from around the world and nowadays one can find truly superior and exclusive properties, frontline villas and apartments for sale in Santa Ponsa.
