Standing in the dappled shade on the terrace when we first visited La Caleta, we found ourselves in an unexpectedly beautiful oasis of tranquillity right on the sea. The property is only a five minute walk from the town and the beach, although the latter can also be accessed by a short swim from the steps that lead into the sea at the bottom of the garden. The grounds were cleverly designed and planted many years ago, so that the trees and shrubs have now reached maturity, giving the property many shady spots in which to relax during the heat of the summer.
